IMG_20180619_134716Vrindavan is a town of temples It has 5500 temples of Krishna and Radhe. It is a marvelous place to visit for anybody. You have to see it to believe it . It is land of God.

PREM MANDIR

January 2017 I visited  PREM MANDIR along with my family. I was astonished by the beautiful appearance of the Temple covered with colorful lightings. I was wondering as if it was a day of Diwali ( famous Hindu festival of India).

IMG_20180619_133728The security staff was very cooperative without any compromise with safety. The temple is made of Italian white marble and is carved beautifully. I shall find panels displaying pastimes of Shri Krishna. Inside the temple on the ground floor, one can see Deities of Beautiful Radha and Krishna adorned with eye-catching ornaments and dresses. Beautiful satsang was being sung by few devotees which was very captivating and forced us to join it for a while. While sitting in the arena of Prem Mandir, my eyes noticed a huge chandelier glittering on the roof of Temple. The beauty of it cannot be expressed in words.

IMG_20180619_133155On the first floor, there are Deities of Shree Ram Sita and Shri Hanuman. Then we got chance to see the water fountain. Canteen food served inside was tagged with a reasonable price and was hygienic and delicious.

Mostly white and beautiful temple. Have excellent spiritual displays and landscape. Do stay over in evening for light & fountain Lazer shoe. It has beautiful paintings all around outer walls. Amazing view in changinglight colours.

I recommend all the tourists visiting Vrindavan must see this Divine Abode and  for its beauty and vastness.

Radhavallabh Temple

IMG_20180619_133619One of the ancient and main temples in Vrindavan managed by a family from many generations dedicated to Radha-Krishna. Sri Radha ballabh temple is one of the famous temples of Vrindaban dedicated to Lord Krishna. This temple has a unique construction and beautiful statue of the deity . One can sit in peace and meditate . The ambience is a little chaotic with the constant activities of the devotees , however the spiritual currents run deep here and those interested in

exploring it can visit this place.

Please note that many photos posted for this temple are actually from other temples of Vrindavan. It is walking distance from Banke Bihari temple.

Banke Bihari Mandir

Banke Bihari Mandir is one of the seven temples of Thakur of Vrindavan, and it is located near Shri RadhaVallabh Temple. The Banke Bihari temple is the Main temple in Vrindavan. The approach to the temple is by walking through a narrow lane which is flanked by all sorts of shops on either side. The lane itself is quite dirty but there’s no alternate route.

IMG_20180619_133528We entered the Mandir through Gate 2.We had to leave our shoes outside the gate as there’s no provision of any trust / team to take care of our shoes.

Having entered through Gate 2 offered us a magnificent Darshan of the main deity albeit from a distance of around 100 feet. However in my personal opinion this is better than being jostled around if you happen to enter from the 1st door.We stood there for almost 1 minute to absorb the divine Darshan in our eyes and mind. One has to make the way back through the same lane. There are electric rickshaws ready to take you to the next stop.

Beware of monkeys there, if you are wearing any spects then please remove it and take in hand or keep it safe place even if you are wearing that they will took of your spects.

Radha Damodar Temple

IMG_20180619_133441It very nice and simple temple and established in the year 1542 in by Srila Jiva Goswami, a saint from the Gaudiya Vaishnava school of Vedanta. .Temple is situated in Loi bazaar Vrindavan, the temple can be reached by Auto rickshaw. This temple is especially special as it has the Giriraj Charan Shila, given by Lord Krishna himself to Srila Sanatan Goswami a devotee, and principal disciple of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Here the original deities of Sri Radha Damodar are worshipped. (Lord Krishna is also known as Damodar).

The Shila has four signs on it, Lord Krishna’s foot print, Flute, Stick and Cow’s foot print. It was saying that if you take 4 times parikrama(round of this temple) it gives you the complete benefit of Sri Govardhan Parikrama. Unfortunately I couldn’t do the Parikrama .

Govardhan Mountain

It is situated at a distance of 22 km from Mathura. According to the Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan Hill during his childhood on one finger to save Mathura from heavy rain.  Specially vaishnav people must come here for “Parikrama” of the hill.

IMG_20180619_133403I went to Vrindavan  with my family  last year. We went there to perform a Parikrama (approx 21 km) People went there often to perform this parikrama barefooted. While we perform a parikrama the place falls on our way, Govardhan village, Radha Kund, Puchhari village, Udhave kund, Mansi Ganga, and Govind kund etc. We have to perform this 21 km long parikrama in a day. Generally, people start this by late night and they finish this by the early morning in around 6 hours and sometimes in just 4 hours. They make groups of 10 to 15 persons and easily they finish this. Things we should know before our plan to go there, don’t carry luggage with us. Carry only water and some fruits of “Chane” for monkeys. Yes, there are  a lot of monkeys on the ways. But they never harm us, just come to us and take fruits of chane from us and that’s it. Lungars are there for the people so don’t take any food or etc with us. Just plan and go there and enjoy the Aurah. Electronic auto available to do parikrama of 21km.

Radha Kund

IMG_20180619_133333Radha kund is a holy bath place where people come and take bath..it is said that all evilness gets washed away while taking bath in shri Radha rani kund.

It is a holy pond which comes in between of world famous goverdhan parikarma. While doing the journey of parikarma, you may find it to be a peaceful halt place. You may also do small worship over here.

Radha Raman Temple

This temple has the oldest deity in Vrindavan and the most beautiful one in my opinion. The temple is maintained by a family tradition, which is the case with many other temples in Vrindavan. Traditional singing in rear court of the temple adds to the divinity of the place. The kirtans(SONG) there are amazing.

IMG_20180619_133305There is no deity of Radha Rani here ,as the deity of Radha Raman is self manifested.
There is a ‘Akhand Jyot’ , Holy Flame manifested in the temple, which till date remains in the service of the Lord for daily worship.

Leave your car in a parking space and take a rickshaw or walk to get there as the roads leading to the temple are narrow.

Krishna Baliram Temple

IMG_20180619_132957Krishna Balaram temple was very beautiful temple  in Vrindavan which is around 15 to 20 km from Mathura and not in remote location. So it is good for you to go there with your own car. This Temple is Lord Krisha and His Brother Balaram temple nice place to see. We have took its visit during our Mathura trip. Peaceful temple made with white marble.

It is temple made of white mosaic and is very beautiful by ISKCON , Also Swami Prabhupada darshan is awesome and enchanting continues filling soul with peace.

Iskcon Temple

The ISKCON temple is worldwide are famous for their serene atmosphere and beautiful idols of the deity Krishna and Radha. The temple at Vrindavan is equally serene, peaceful and so beautiful. It takes you to another dimension of spirituality and Krishna consciousness. Their crowd contrzolling is far better, and the place is managed in a professional way. Their prasadam is yummy and must do for a foodie.

IMG_20180619_132358A must visit place in Vrindavan. Although this temple doesn’t hold the historical value but once you entered the temple you could feel the spiritual mood in you. That may due to the colouring of the idols or the chants  which they play with dance and chanting of

“Hare Krishna Hare Rama Hare Krishna Hare Rama”

 takes you to another world.

The ultimate God, go serve the humanity and preach goodness of bhakti. Krishna temple is for those who wants divine blessings.

Radha Rani Temple

One of the holy place in India and it is also known as birth place of RADHA.  This beautiful temple is situated in Barsana around 20 km from Goverdhan .  it’s a big temple situated on the top of a Bhanugarh hill  built 5,000 years ago. There is a beautiful forest area full of trees and flowers called Gahver Van where Sri Radha used to spend time with her sakhis( friends ) . One can do a parikrama till the temple which is approximately 3 Kms .

IMG_20180619_132054

We can visit the temple by car or you can climb 200 or more steps. If we go by car, we shall arrive first at Shri Kushalbihari temple from here Radha rani temple is 10-12 minutes walk.

One gets a beautiful view from atop the temple of Barsana village.

It is best to visit one week before holi ,this place is like alive and most crowded , people from all over the world visit this place ,and special  ludoo and           lathmar    ( stick ) holi is the best thing to watch ,with ancient cultural ways ,folk music ,dance and colors make it alive .

Sevakunj and Nidhuban

This is a must visit place in Vridbavan. The place has over 1600 wild Tulsi trees depicting the Gopikas ( vrindavan girls ). As per folklore Lord krishna comes to meet Radha everyday and people can hear music coming from this place in the night but no one was able to witness it. People who tried to see this, have either died or lost their senses. There is a special room where all Shrigar smagri ( costume & mak up ) is kept everyday along with Prasad. The pujari locks this place, however every morning when they open the premises. The prasad is found eaten and the Shrigar samgri is found disturbed, depicting that lord krishna and Radha had been to the place. A guide can help you with the history of this place and unique features.

IMG_20180619_134612However beware of the pandas in the Balram temple (where they do NAAM DAAN, they charge you hefty sums by telling you compelling stories) . Both these temples are located just outside Nidhavan. Just outside yoh can also see the tree on which lord krishna had hidden the clothes of Radha and her friends.

This place is mysterious!

The major part of the temple is surrounded with huge bushy forests. It is said that these trees are in fact ‘Gopis’. After the evening aarti, all the windows in front of Nidhivan gets closed till the morning. Night stay at Bankey Bihari temple is restricted after sunset. Those who have stayed back have either been found dead or have lost their minds.

There are a lot of monkeys at this place. People feed them food so they are not scared to come near you and snatch your belongings. You have to remove your footwear before you enter the Nidhivan. They charge you a small fee of 2 rupees to look out for your shoes while you are gones Lord Krishna used to do Krishna Leela here. Even today he is supposed to do this here every night. At night, all monkeys and birds disappear from this place. And in morning, there are signs that lord Krishna had come in the night.

It is  interesting to see the burning ceremonies happening here, Very intense atmosphere. Although, it’s a sight for tourist . I’d recommend people to be respectful as it is not a real display but a sentimental moment for a family.

The Ghat gives an idea that death-shaming is not required, it celebrates life and also death and death is seen as a door to start a rebirth/new life. It makes you come in terms with the practicalities of life. This is quite an eye-opener for me and hence, I recommend.
